The staff of the Community Relations office focuses on:

• Developing and implementing strategies to provide positive linkages with the community;
  
• Conducting and coordinating activities designed to attain the goals and objectives of the University of Pittsburgh;
  
• Conducting and coordinating the University/community relations and community service activities consistent with the standards of the Community Relations office;
  
• Identifying opportunities for the University to participate in mutually cooperative and beneficial efforts with neighborhood organizations, public agencies and governmental entities;
  
• Developing and coordinating an internal network of faculty and staff to address specific community issues;
  
• Serving as the primary source of information and advice on neighborhood organizations and community issues;
• Representing the University and the Community Relations office in meetings and activities of the various neighborhood organizations and meetings of public, private and governmental entities; and
• Maintaining a community service directory which captures University faculty research that has a direct community service benefit.
